Hi Everyone!!

Its been a while since my last writings but when you hear the news you'll hopefully understand.

The first piece of news is that I'm going to become a Grandmother for the first time!

This news has created a need to be flexible enough to travel interstate regularly and often to keep up to date with the pregnancy and then be part of the 'precious bundle's' life.

Ive decided to close the 'physical' doors to my store and take 15 of my favourite local designers to create an online 'virtual' store. I told them..."girls we are going GLOBAL!"

Much to do but much excitement. This will broaden our audience as well as bringing more balance to my family life.

Balance .

By making way for balance in my life I will be also able to follow my own creative urges and paint paint paint.

My loyal customers and holiday makers will also be able to enjoy monthly "showings" of new products in the garden of my own home in Peregian and again I can do what I love most by welcoming them with homemade scones and tea...more like friends.

Our new website is under constrction so keep up to date with the blog and Facebook page. Just google South Peregian Trading Co.

Love Vicki

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

The first thing I do after riding my gorgeous pink bike to work is order my large Latte from Le Bon Delice Patisserie. Its the best coffee in town.

Not to mention the exquisite little french tarts. Its a real find! They spoil me by bringing my coffee to me daily. I love the way they have decorated this year for Valentines day.

I re-merchandised my shop window yesterday with everything I could find 'red' in my store. Its amazing how many people came 'looking' for something special for their love.

The soap petals by Debra Hutton have definitely been a hit and there has been loads of interest in the 'One Red Bird' jewellery.

From the beginning...

Hello readers,

From the moment I opened the doors to my magical store I had special moments where designer, customer and myself all connect ...there is a definate energy.

When a designer comes in to deliver or show her wares, I introduce whatever customer is in the store. We all end up chatting and the customer will give input and help me decide which pieces to order. It honestly has happened a few times that designer and customer bond and go off to continue chatting around the corner at Le Bon Delice Patisserie over a latte...hilarious!

My little shop has evolved into supporting local designers, and gosh there are so many talented people on the Sunshine Coast, I get an average of two new designers weekly come to my door. The best part is...I don't need to go looking for stock or go to those Trade Fairs...the word is out and they come to me!

When I first opened I just sold my art (1) and my daughter Chloes photography (2).

(2)

Then I included some of my friends jewellery such as Pam French Design (3), then it just blossomed!

(3)

There is a story about everything in this store. By Friday afternoon I am so talked out-but its very rewarding at the same time.

(1)
My aim with this blog is to tell you about my constant designers and share the excitement as I get a new one!

Colour your life.

AUSTRALIA DAY

I hope that everyone had a great Australia day. How lucky are we? On the Sunshine Coast the weather was true to its name....clear blue skies and a sweltering 33 degrees.

The fish were 'on' and my handsome husband caught us a sweetlip off the beach here at Peregian.

I made a delicious passion fruit Pavlova and 2 traditional meat pies to eat with mash and mushy peas, could you get any more Aussie that that??

Pavlova Recipe

4 eggs

1 cup sugar

1/2 tablespoon cornflour

1 teaspoon lime juice

1. Lightly dampen greaseproof paper and cut to size of plate

2. beat egg whites till stiff and frothy

3. Gradually add sugar

4. Fold in flour and lime juice

5. Spread into Pavlova shape on prepared plate

6. Bake in oven slow, 150 degrees for 2 hours

7. When cool top with cream and fruit
Back to the shop tomorrow, i must show you the most divine Vintage kiddies cozzies made by local Nola Wilson, so so cute.

Until then,
